For Immediate Release – Films We Like is proud to announce the Canadian acquisition of Yellow Letters, the powerful new feature from acclaimed German-Turkish filmmaker İlker Çatak (The Teachers’ Lounge).

Premiering in Competition at this year's Berlin International Film Festival, the political thriller was awarded the festival’s top prize - the Golden Bear.

Life is good for Derya and Aziz, a celebrated artist couple from Turkey — until an incident at the premiere of their latest play draws unwanted attention from the state. 

As political pressure mounts, they are forced to navigate the widening gap between their ideals and the realities of survival. What begins as a public controversy soon turns inward, placing their marriage under extraordinary strain.
