Films We Like Acquires Canadian Rights to Cannes Un Certain Regard Winner Everytime
Films We Like is pleased to announce the Canadian release of Everytime, the newest feature by Austrian filmmaker Sandra Wollner, whose previous films include The Trouble With Being Born and The Impossible Picture. Everytime had its world premiere at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival in Un Certain Regard, where it won the section’s top prize.
A haunting drama of grief, blame, and impossible forgiveness, Everytime brings together a mother, her daughter, and a teenage boy in the aftermath of a tragedy. Bound by loss but divided by guilt, the unlikely trio travel to Tenerife for a family holiday that never happened. Under the island’s bright, disorienting sun, the boundaries between past and present begin to blur, and what was meant to be an escape becomes a quiet confrontation with memory, responsibility, and the fragile possibility of reconciliation.
