For Immediate Release – Step back into the sleek world of hi-fi glamour — when martinis were dry, suits were sharp, and music came from furniture that looked like it could fly.
Films We Like is thrilled to drop the needle on Ron Mann’s latest pop-culture foray, Clairtone, opening in theatres across Canada beginning December 5, 2025.
Clairtone explores the remarkable rise and fall of the Clairtone Sound Corporation — the audacious mid-century Canadian electronics company founded by Peter Munk and David Gilmour, whose visionary stereo and television designs became international symbols of sophistication, modernity, and cultural cool.
However, within seven years of its meteoric ascent, Clairtone crashed spectacularly, undone by over-expansion, government ambition, and the shifting tides of consumer taste.
