KÖLN 75

A FILM by IDO FLUK

The true story behind one of the most legendary concerts in jazz history comes to Canadian audiences.

For Immediate Release – Toronto, Canada — Films We Like is proud to announce the Canadian acquisition of Köln 75, the highly anticipated music-drama from director Ido Fluk. The film made its celebrated debut in the Special Gala section of the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, drawing acclaim for its captivating portrayal of a young woman’s determination and the power of live music.

Set in 1975, Köln 75 tells the remarkable true story of Vera Brandes, Germany’s youngest concert promoter at the time, who—at just 18 years old—organized what would become the legendary Köln Concert by jazz pianist Keith Jarrett.

A night marked by adversity, improvisation, and unexpected transcendence, the concert went on to become one of the most iconic and best-selling piano recordings of all time.

With Köln 75, Fluk captures both the cultural pulse of 1970s Europe and the intimate, high-stakes tension behind a concert that almost didn’t happen. The film is a tribute to youthful audacity, artistic brilliance, and the transformative power of music.
